The eFile option creates a TXT formatted file you can upload using the LWC web site to eFile employee and wage information.

NOTES

Wages for employees marked as SUTA exempt are not included.

If you need to include those marked as SUTA exempt, contact us via email.

If you have multiple work site data, you will have to edit the file before uploading, or edit the information after uploading.

The employee record must include the 'Standard Occupational Classification' (SOC) or a job title.

We are including the information you have entered as the employee's 'Department 1', which should be the numerical SOC.

Nominal Rate of Pay

The employee record must include the employees 'nominal rate of pay'.

LA provides relatively clear instructions on calculating the nominal rate.

The hours worked and regular pay are gathered for each employee.

Hours worked is the amount of hours at either pay rate, not including the extra half time for overtime.

The regular pay is the amount of pay either as salary, or the pay rate times hours worked (not including the extra half time for overtime) on each check.

Employees marked as Salaried

Nominal rate is calculated as Salary * Paydays Per Year as set on the Employee screen / 2080.

If an employee marked as Salaried does not have a salary amount set on the Employee screen, their nominal rate is calculated as total wages * 4 / 2080.

Employee not marked as Salaried

Nominal rate is calculated as total regular pay divided by hours worked.

If an employee not marked as salaried has no hours worked, their nominal rate is calculated as total wages * 4 / 2080.

The nominal rate appears to be collected for statistical purposes since the wages used to calculate the nominal rate are not the same as the wages used to determine UI benefits.
