Mailing Labels

Previous Top Next

Formatted for Avery® 5160® or compatible forms - 30 labels per page.

Margin Adjustments

Positive numbers move the printing down or to the right.

Negative numbers move the printing up or to the left.

The increment is 1/16' with a range of -8/16' to 8/16'.

It is possible to move the printing beyond the area your printer can print.

Preview ignores the margin settings.

Start Position

Position 1 is the first label in the upper left.

Position 3 is the last label in the first row.

Consult the label manufacturer's and printer manufacturer's instructions before attempting to reuse a partial sheet of labels.

Active Employees

Mailing Labels always include all active employees.

Include All Employees Paid in ####

Includes all employees paid during the tax year shown.  Useful for printing labels to mail W-2 forms.

Include All Ex-Employees

Check this box to include every employee - current or not.

NOTES

Try printing with no margin adjustments.

The alignment should be accurate if your printer's software is accurate.

If you have no current year employees, a sample set of 60 records - two pages - is used when previewing or printing.

The default font size is 12 point.

If the employee information will not fit at 12 point, a smaller font size - 10, then 8 - is used for the individual employee label.

If the data cannot fit at 8 point, some of the information will be trimmed from the right side to avoid overlap.

Use the Preview to get a good idea of whether or not the information is too long.

Proper USPS addressing has little or no punctuation.

Medlin Payroll does not print commas or periods on the employee mailing labels.

The labels print in the USPS preferred all capital letters.

The USPS prefers a normal font, such as Arial, with the 'Regular' font style.
