Important Notes
•Contact your email provider for the necessary settings. Medlin Software cannot provide you with the settings as they are set by your email provider.
•The header of each message includes the name from your 'License/Registration Key'.
•If the message is rejected, you should get a message in your 'Reply Address' mailbox.
•SMTP Authorization and secure connections (SSL/TLS) are attempted and used, if supported by your email server.
Connection
•Select the connection you would like to use.
•For information on setting up connections, refer to the Windows Help system.
•If you do not need Medlin to make the connection (you have DSL, cable modem, LAN, etc.) select Direct Connection.
•This also applies if you have a dial-up connection already open when you want to send email from our program.
•You can also use the Direct Connection option if you can open the internet manually, but cannot get Medlin to open the connection.
Your Reply Address
•Enter the e-mail address you would like replies sent to.
•his address is also used to set the 'from' address for the message.
SMTP Mail Server
•Enter your SMTP server's name.
•This is the outgoing mail server.
SMTP Port
•The 'port' used to access your outgoing mail server.
•The most common port is 587.
SMTP User Name
•Enter your user name / login for your outgoing mail server.
•If your outgoing mail server does not require a login, enter your e-mail address instead.
SMTP Password
•Enter your outgoing mail server password here.
•Remember, email passwords are case sensitive.
•If your password is 'mEdLin', entering 'MEDLIN' or 'medlin' will not work.
To E-Mail Address
•If you are sending reports or data files, enter the recipient's e-mail address here.
•To send to more than one address, separate the addresses with a semi-colon.
•There is a 40 character limit in this field.
Carbon Copies
•Check this box to send a copy of the message sent to your 'Reply' address.
•If you send yourself a message and a carbon copy, you may only receive one message, depending on your email software and/or your mail provider's settings.
