To begin using Medlin Software on a new computer, use the following steps.

Old Computer

Backup the data

Click the Medlin shortcut on your desktop.

Click Backup Data.

Backup the data onto removable media (disk, USB stick, etc).

If you have multiple sets of data (multiple clients), See Note 1.

New Computer

Install the software

Download and install from the Medlin web site.

Refer to your last receipt for the registration key.

If you do not have your last receipt, click the Resend Lost Key link/button on the Medlin web site.

Restore the data

Open the Medlin program, the program you wish to restore data for.

If you have multiple sets of data (multiple clients), See Note 2.

Click File.

Click Restore Data, and restore the data from the (local) removable media.

Notice you are selecting a drive, folder, and a file name.

Old Computer

Uninstall the software/data

In Windows, Open Control Panel.

Open Programs and Features (or Add/Remove Programs).

Select Medlin, and uninstall both the program and the data.

If you have multiple sets of data (multiple clients), See Note 3.

Note 1

Repeat the backup process for each set of data (each data folder).

Make sure to use separate/different media for each set of data.

If you try to back up more than one set of data on the same media, you will only be saving the last set of data you backed up.

Note 2

Before restoring the data, create a data folder for each client.

Click File, then click Add New Data Folder, as many times as needed.

BEFORE restoring a specific client, make sure to use the Change Data Folder function to change to the specific client's data folder, then restore their data.

Note 3

Make sure you manually delete each client's data folder, because the uninstall process cannot find and delete data for multiple clients.
