This feature is available only in the Professional Edition of Medlin Payroll.
Import Data Exported from Time Clock Software
•Use your time clock software to export the employee hours information into a text or CSV file.
•Next, use the Import function in Medlin Payroll to read your time clock data.
•If your time clock software is not specifically listed as being compatible.
•Create an export using your time clock software's default CSV and/or Text file settings.
•See if Medlin Payroll can read the data by trying an import.
•Jan 2024, After many years, we have elected to not offer to add any further time clock imports.
•If the import of your time clock data does not work, send us a copy of the time clock software's export file (as an email attachment), as well as the name of the time clock software.
•We will do our best to find a way to add your time clock software's export file format to our software.
AFTER A SUCCESSFUL IMPORT
•A preview of a Payroll Check Listing will be opened, for the date of the new checks.
•Review the Payroll Check Listing.
•Make notes of any needed changes, such as additional pay (bonus, PTO, etc.).
•Edit the new paychecks as needed (you can even delete if you need to).
•Once the paychecks are as needed, you can print, email stubs, direct deposit, whatever you normally do to pay the employees.
•Don't forget to print a new Payroll Check Listing if any items are edited or deleted, as well as any other reports you normally print with each payroll.
NOTES
•Date information in the file being imported is ignored.
•When creating your export file, use your time clock software to include only the desired dates (your pay period).
•The date for the new paychecks is selected during the import process.
•The field names and the content of the fields are case insensitive, and may or may not have spaces between the words.
•The hour fields contain the time worked in decimal format.
•If a rate field imported, and the rate is different than the pay rate in Medlin Payroll, you will be asked if you want to use the rate in the time clock software.
•Data fields not mentioned in each specific format are ignored.
•After import, you will have the chance to edit each new check, as well as print, create pay stubs, etc.
•The need to edit could be to add PTO, other income, bonus, etc.
•Employees marked as salaried - in Medlin Payroll - will get their full salary as long as there is any time worked.
•The vendors of the time clock software listed here, including their name, software, and documentation, may be copyrighted and/or trademark protected.
•Those rights remain the property of their holder.
•The information provided here is meant as a guide.
