All CA employers must report to EDD electronically, unless the employer requests, and is granted, a waiver. The EDD electronic reporting process is reasonably easy to complete, either manually, or by using the files Medlin Payroll can create.
If you are subject to ETT, make sure the Employer Paid Tax setup has 'ETT' (without the quotes) as the description.
CA Payment eFile
•Use this option to print a 'liability report' for the selected time frame. The figures can then be used when making your tax deposit.
•You can also use a Payroll Tax Summary for the same time frame.
CA QTR eFile
•This selection will create a CSV file, per the EDD specifications, which you can upload using the EDD's web site.
•Also prepares an 'information' sheet, showing the file's name and location, as well as a few figures you must manually enter during the submission process.
•You can print a Quarterly Listing and Payroll Tax Summary for the quarter, to see the employee figures and the totals, to keep for your records, or for manual entry into the EDD online system.
Saver Info (CalSavers Census Information)
•This selection will create a CSV file for reporting employee census information to CalSavers.
•Also shows a message on screen, indicating the file's name and location.
•CalSavers also allows manual entry using their online process.
Saver Dep (CalSavers Deposit Report)
•This selection will create a CSV file for reporting employee deposit/contribution information to CalSavers.
•Also shows a message on screen, indicating the file's name and location.
•CalSavers also allows manual entry using their online process.
