Invoice Printing - If a line has a zero amount, does not print 0.00

Report Printing - You can choose to print an image as the background of most reports.

Backup Data - When creating a backup, the data folder name is part of the backup file's name.  This will make it easier to keep track of what you have backed up.

Restore Data - When restoring data, you will pick the backup file from a list.  This will make it easier to be sure you are selecting the desired backup.

Last Used List - Medlin Software now stores the last 500 data folders you have used.  The last used list is shown on the Medlin Menu screen, as well as in the lower right of Payroll, Accounting, and Accounts Receivable.

 

Version 4.7 (Sep 2014)

Special Auto Bill Codes - Two special sales codes will use the amount for the Auto Bill from the sales code, so you do not have to edit the amount for each individual customer.  Handy if you have a universal monthly charges which change.

Customers are sorted by name - To simulate the old sorting method (Customer Code), change the customer's Name 1 field to the desired sorting text, and use Name 2 for their actual name.

Customers can be set as inactive - Inactive customers are not shown individually on reports.  Inactive customers are sorted at the end of the customer lists.  If you post an entry to an inactive customer, the customer is made active.

Separate customer phone, memo, and fax fields.

Many data fields are lengthened.

Statement/Invoice Type 421L Blank Form - Select this form type if you have ordered Form 421L from medlinforms.com, but did not ask to have your company information and logo preprinted on the forms.

Sales Tax Setup - Doubled the number of tax rates, to ten from five.

Dollar amounts are formatted with commas on statements, invoices, and reports

Customer Selection - Type enough of any part of the name or number to cause the desired customer to be at the top of the list.  Select a customer from a drop down list.

Sales Code Selection - Type enough of any part of the description or number to cause the desired sales code to be at the top of the list.  Select a customer from a drop down list.

Date sensitive - You no longer have to remember to start a new period. There is no longer a "period".  All accounting is done on a monthly basis. Statement aging is done on a monthly basis.  Charges and payments are always shown in date order.

When comparing data from the old reports to reports created with the new version, compare only the ending balances.  The new version's total is based only in the entry dates, so - unless you always started a new period each month, and never entered items out of date order - balances other than the ending/totals may be different.

NOTES - The conversion process cannot read the old (Version 4.6 or earlier) invoice detail - just the information visible on the Charges and Payments tab. The old customer phone/memo field is copied into the new phone field and the new memo field.  This makes it easier to separate your existing memo, if needed.
